Hi  

 

I've not come across that exact error when trying to upgrade to v19 before. To me this sounds like there's an error in the file that is preventing it from being upgraded or opened.

 

My thoughts on this would be to check if the file can be opened at all, as that error normally means the file is broken and an error-free backup of the file would need to be restored.

 

 

Out of curiosity, if you attempt to open this in the original software it came from do you get the same error?

 

Considering it's prompting to upgrade to v19.8, would you get the same message with V19.0 or MYOB Premier V12.5?

That said, I know  to have more experience with errors in MYOB Classic than I do and I hope he might have a bit more insight into this.

Thank you very much for the additional information, sorry to hear the problem persists and you gave up Smiley Sad 

 

If you do find the time to investigate again, I'd suggest checking the following:

 

1. Temporary turn off Kaspersky instead of pausing it.

 

2. Make sure the backup file is not stored on a network drive. If it is, copy and paste the backup file to your desktop first, then try restoring from this copy.

 

3. You can use an alternative way to add the file to your local library. The copy of the backup file on your desktop should be a .zip file, extract its content to your desktop as well, it shall extract the .myox company file. Now launch AccountRight > Open a company file > My Library > Add a company file at the bottom > add the desktop .myox file. Then try opening it.

 

4. If you can add the file to library successfully but cannot open it, please try opening any of the sample company files and see if the same error occurs. You can locate them via My Library > 'Samples' folder, selecting the applicable location and version.

 

If you receive any different error messages, we are keen to hear as well. Please do let us know how it goes for you.

Hello Clover,

Thanks very much for your advice.

I have just turned off the karpersky and also the firewall.

Then copy the backup file to desktop and then extract it.

I open the myob and go to library and add the file to the library.

The file has been added. But the same message appear.

Then i tried to open a sample file which i have never done it before, it gave me exactly the same message.

 

Do you know whether the problem is due to my computer environmental issue?

AT the beginning, this computer only open file through network, but suddently the network library didn't work, it said can't find any files. i have checked there was no change in ip address. 

then i start to think to move all the files to this computer as this computer has big memory. the current server is so old and has only 15GB free. i have lots of files. The files were used by 2 people in the past, but we sold all the businesses and now only me that use the files. that's why, i want to move all files to this computer.

I only enter few entries to few files, but still entering lots of datas to 3 myob files which take memory of the old files. 

I am not sure what happen with this computer which suddenly cannot access network library and also it couldn't open the files which already restored in local library.

 

I still can open online files with this computer though.

 

I am so sorry i keep bothering you.

I have managed to sort the issue out. It was the usb drive that the data file was stored in. It was not working well.

Changed it over to a new usb drive with back up data file and it worked.

Just installed MYOB Premier 12.5, tried to open the file and got the following message:

Thanks for confirming this, now that I know it's thrown when opening a file it's more akin to what I've seen before. 

 

The error is very much as it says as it has caused an error in the datafile rendering it inoperable and to restore a previous error-free backup of the file.

Thank you so much for the updated information. This is no bother at all, we are here to help and I'm sorry we haven't resolved yet. 

 

So now that we learned the back up file can be restored to local library file, the problem resides in opening any local files. The network library problem you mentioned could possibly be caused by a different matter, such as library services on the server computer etc. Since now that you wish to move the company files to your computer, it's more important to ensure you can open local files first. 

 

At this stage I'd suggest reinstalling AccountRight on your computer. Please uninstall it first, then download the Server Edition installer from our product download page. Temporary disable antivirus before installation. 

 

Once installed, try opening any of the files from My Library list again. If the problem persists, please follow the steps in this Help article to make sure the library services are running fine on your computer - AccountRight library service issues.

 

If all above fails, could you please provide the local diagnostic file so we can look into it further for you? 

 

The quickest way to locate the diagnostic log files is:

  1. Simultaneously press the Windows  and R keys on your keyboard. The Run window appears.
  2. In the Open field, type %localappdata%\MYOB\AccountRight
  3. Click OK. The contents of the AccountRight folder will appear.
  4. In the AccountRight folder, double-click the folder for your AccountRight version, e.g. 2019.1.
  5. Attach the huxley.Application_201xxxx file please.

I am not able to turn on the multi currency feature within the 2019.1 upgrade.

I thought that my current license allowed for multi currency. 

 

 

2FA and multiple users - offline

Hello - we have one MYOB account with one email address that is linked to 2FA.  As we need to update to the new version (unfortunately - for STP reasons) I'm wondering how does everyone else in the office log on to their own device to use MYOB (they already have their own log in details) - we also need to update their version and do this by logging in to the My MYOB account on every computer (too many issues using the "upgrade" button so we don't).  What happens when I'm away and others need to obtain a 2FA code to access MYOB on their computers - they can't keep looking at my email to wait for the code - could you please advise how this would work?

Hi  

 

If your file is stored offline on either a network or local library, which will show as a purple bar in the bottom right hand corner of the screen when the file is opened. Offline files do not require a 2FA login when accessing the file, however certain online services may require a 2FA login to access them on an offline file. For offline files a user would only need a set of user details setup through Setup >> User Access window

 

If you were requiring a user to have access to my.MYOB then they would need to be added as a contact on your account. This is done through our phone-based team speaking with an existing contact on the account. As the user would be setup with their own email they could set their own 2FA method. Alternatively if you were simply after the latest version, I recommend having a look at our help article Getting the latest version, which outlines multiple ways to obtain the latest version

AccountRight Premier 19.15 Server Install

Hi

 

I currently have been running Myob in a single user enviroment however with a new staff member I need to change this to a server install.  I was not able to find the correct installer for my current software version AccountRight Premiuer 19.15 and I am unable to upgrade the software due to Import and Export restrictions.

 

Can someone please send me the link for a server installer for this version please?  I have checked the Downloads section under my.myob.

Unlike AccountRight 201X, AccountRight v19 does not have separate server and client Pc installers. Instead for AccountRight Premier v19.15. Instead there is only the one installer.

 

If you have an active support agreement then you can download that installer off the downloads section of my.MYOB or off our MYOB Product Downloads Page

Hi  

 

When you prepare a Balance Sheet or Profit and Loss report AccountRight will produce totals for your header accounts based on your settings. If you go to Accounts>>Accounts Lists>>Select the relevant header account (ones in bold) you can select the Detail tab and select When Reporting, Generate a Subtotal for This Section.

 

Personally, I haven't come across this option being unticked when upgrading a company file, however, going into that desired header account(s) to enable the account should allow for those accounts to be reported successfully.

We're having the same issue. Upgrade of our company files has been in progress for close to 3 hours.

Is there a solution/fix?

I have closed out of the program and gone back in, but there seems to be no change.

Hello Clover,

 

thank you for your advice. I have unsintalled myob account right, turn off karpersky and then intalling account right server edition.

I have tried installing accountright 2018.1.4 SE however, there is error message "SN000504,the hos files is set up incorrectly- support note35831"

i have read the support note, and i found there was no reply 127.0.0.1 neither ::1. and i need to do some steps to work around it as temporary fix.

 

However,  i didn't continue, i tried to download the newer version 2019.1SE, it came up with error message "the account right server couldn't be started"

 

I decided to install PC edition, (antivirus has been disabled), and tried to open sample file. it still the same result that i couldn't open the sample file.

Unlink user name to email

2019.1 Invoicing

I have just downloaded and installed term 2019.1 and it is completely stuffing up my invoices. The net of GST price which was previously rounded to 2 digits is now rounded extended to 6 digits beyond the decimal place which is completely screwing up the format of the invoice. consequently I cannot send a customer invoice until I sort out this freaking mess.

 

Why am I paying $600 a year for this **bleep**. Why can't you get your upgrades right. Why do I have to sit on the phone for 20 minutes waiting for some freaking operator to answer the freaking phone. You people are a complete and utter disgrace.

I can no longer recommend this product to any potential user because of the price gouging and the poor customer service.

 

Unfortunately had to go to an appointment but if anybody in MYOB wants to follow-up you can call me on (03) 9859 2867 after 3:30 PM Melbourne time

Do any of the Account Right products have M-Powered. We definately do not want to use ABA files to send to bank, this is far too time-consuming for our business.  If not, is AccountRight Premier V 19.15 being upgraded for STP reporting as per goverment requirements?
