Due to some compliance changes this payroll year (16-2017), I would recommend that you install the compliance update (AccountRight 19.14) before completing the payment summaries and starting a new payroll year. This is due to two reasons:

  • working holiday makers have been introduced, thus a new payment type field has been added to the payment summaries
  • there have been updates to fringe benefits - Section 57A. 

While either of these may affect yourself, it is still my recommendation that you install the compliance update before completing the payment summaries.

Although regardless of the fact of when you install the update, you do need to complete your payment summaries before closing the year and entering the pays in the new year.

There are a couple of things that can cause that error, which comes up as a User cancelled installation. The first thing to try will be to ensure that all other programs are closed down and that the installation is left to run on its own.

 

If the error persists after closing down all programs, including any antivirus programs, then the next step would be to right click on the installer and choose the option to Run as Administrator. This will run the installer with full Windows Administrator permissions which can often get around permissions related issues that may be impacting the installation.

Hi 

 

Taking a look at your my.MYOB account setup you should have access to that download link. This can be accessed via selecting My Products>>Downloads after logging in. Do note that AccountRight 19.13 is located in the list of downloads further down the page (about a quarter) so you may need to scroll or do a "find search" within your browser (generally CTRL + F)  for v19.13.

If you still can't see it, do make sure that you are on the correct account - it should show "Lexxxx Garxxx - 3343645" in the top right. Do use the drop down to select the correct account if not listing that.

 

In saying that if it was me I would download and install AccountRight v19.14 (which is listed on your my.MYOB account as well). This is the compliance update for the 2017 -2018 payroll year and does contain some payment summary changes see my post on AccountRight Premier v19.13 Upgrade for more information.

 Am I best to install this over the top of my current MYOB as a patch, or to totally uninstall any MYOB from my computer and install afresh? Would installing afresh affect anything else that I should be aware of?

Hi 

 

As the link I sent you is for a full version, if you try and run the installer with any instance of AccountRight v19 on your computer you will get a prompt for the program being already installed. I would uninstall AccountRight off your computer first before trying to run that installer.

 

When you uninstall AccountRight v19, it only uninstalls the program leaving your company file untouched. The only thing to be aware of is if you have previously installed AccountRight v19 to the non-default location, you will need to know where you had installed it previously.

 

This is because certain files, such as the customised forms, and BAS files sit in the location where you install the program to, and if AccountRight v19 is installed in a different location then those files won’t be detected.

Any clues as to how you fixed this error as I have the same message.

Compliance update isnt showing.  Have tried restarting numerous times.  Manually updated numerous times and get same message.  Tried loading tax tables but still says Jan 2017 not July 2017 without the update. Tried ringing MYOB and wait time is in excess of 30 minutes!

 

Wow this is just what we all need at this time of year - NOT.

 

Any help or advice would be most appreciated, thankyou.

Hi 

 

Generally , right-clicking on the installer and selecting Run as Administrator will get pass the "0x80070642 - User cancelled installation" message. If required, you can download a copy of the installer from your my.MYOB account by selecting My Products>>Downloads after logging in. 

 

Once you are on AccountRight 2017.1.1, you can select Setup>>Load Payroll Tax Tables to load the tax tables for the 2017 - 2018 payroll year.

Running as administrator didnt work as i have adminsitrator privileges anyway.

 

Ended up having to completely uninstall programs and then reload before new tax tables would come up.

Just wondering if you could explain what this message "The product version is not registered on the server. Contact the administrator of your FLEXnet Connect Account" means please when we go to check for MYOB updates - I haven't seen it before.

Hi Carol

 

For some reason I was not able to install the software from my.myob. When I went into the MYOB file, an 'update' prompt then appeared. I selected the update and somehow the software was installed and the MYOB file was upgraded. I have not yet been able to prepare the Payment Summaries, so am hoping the tax tables will load OK

ODBC Activation number

Hi,

I have paid the $259 one time fee and I am still waiting for an activation number. Tried to call numerous time and no luck. What do we need to do to get a minimum level of service?

How do I active the ODBC connection for my company?

As the Server Edition is an exe file, it doesn’t have a specific MSI variant. Instead the MSI that  was referring to allows a PC edition of AccountRight to be installed across all Windows user profiles on your terminal server.

 

I have sent a copy of the MSI installer through to you in a private message, which you can access by clicking on your display picture in the top right of your screen and then choose the envelope icon that appears.

Hi , MYOB does not provide activation numbers for the ODBC license, which in their system is an 'asset' added to your existing serial number. Go to Set-up, Company information, and select "License details" (bottom left), then select "Enable online". After a few seconds you should see a message saying that your license has been updated. You will also need to install the ODBC driver from the ODBC folder within the MYOB program folder, if you haven't done that already.

Hi 

 

Without knowing exactly what the icon looks like it’s hard for me to state definitively what is going on, as it is possible that the pinned icon could be the company file itself. Which when clicked on is trying to launch itself.

 

If you have uninstalled AccountRight through the Windows control panel it should remove all traces of the program, including desktop shortcuts and the launching files. This does mean that it shouldn’t launch or even exist on that computer. Assuming you still have a copy of AccountRight v19 installed on your computer that isn’t showing under add/remove programs that can indicate that there may be issues with the Windows registry, which you will want to check with your IT professional

 

As the only difference between V19.5 and 19.6 is the Payroll tax tables, if you do touch any of the payroll windows you will be prompted to reload the tax tables. Other than that there shouldn’t be any reason why you couldn’t open a file that has been previously opened in AccountRight v19.6 in AccountRight v19.5
