Due to some compliance changes this payroll year (16-2017), I would recommend that you install the compliance update (AccountRight 19.14) before completing the payment summaries and starting a new payroll year. This is due to two reasons:
- working holiday makers have been introduced, thus a new payment type field has been added to the payment summaries
- there have been updates to fringe benefits - Section 57A.
While either of these may affect yourself, it is still my recommendation that you install the compliance update before completing the payment summaries.
Although regardless of the fact of when you install the update, you do need to complete your payment summaries before closing the year and entering the pays in the new year.
