Hi 

 

Clients that are required to meet STP obligations are required to upgrade to AccountRight 2018.2 to meet those obligations - Help Article: Upgrade to the new AccountRight would be able to assist with that process.

 

Note:  Clients who are unable to move to an STP enabled version of AccountRight, because they are currently using multi-currency, negative inventory, multi location inventory, M-Powered Payment or ODBC and those using AccountEdge, have been granted an STP reporting deferral until 31 May 2019.

You can upgrade your AccountRight Classic company file to AccountRight 2018 using the Upgrade a Company File option on AccountRight 2018's welcome window.

 

Do note that if you have used or are using one or more of the following features in AccountRight v19 you are currently not able to upgrade that file to AccountRight 2018 at this time:

  • Multi-currency ----Setup>>Preferences>>System>>I Deal with Multiple currencies
  • Negative Inventory --- SetupPreferences>>Inventory>>Allow the Sale of Items with Insufficient On-Hand Quantities
  • Location ----Inventory>>Locations contains more than one location

Restoring a Zipped File AccountRight Premier V19.5

We are multi users and back up ( zip drive the whole data base forms etc) every day - never had to restore a file until today.

I have tried but have been unsuccessful - do I have to do the restore from the server and not the PC i'm working from ?

2018 regrets

We recently updated to 2018 from v19. It has been a nightmare for our business, and cost us plenty. Is it possible to go back to v19?

 

The slowness, and extra hoops, is terribly inefficient, and we need two people to do the work of one before updating.

 

Part of the problem is Timing Out. We get this constantly, even while we are generating reports.  Customers on the phone simply hang up while waiting for answers from us. Is there a solution to this particular painful problem.

Need to upgrade my online company file to 2018, but unsure how.

I have checked its location and it says it stored online, so unsure how to upload it to continue the ungrade.

Hi ,

 

It doesn't matter which machine you use, provided you select the correct .zip file and restore to the correct location. If you are restoring a backup in order to replace a damaged company file, I suggest you first rename your current company file to clearly indicate it is not to be used. Then restore the backup to the same location and name as the existing file had.

 

If using MYOB to restore, first open an existing file (sample will do) then select File > Restore company file and select the zip file. The above error can be caused by a number of situations, someone else might be logged in as single user, or you may not have write permission in that folder, or there may be lock files in that same folder.

 

When MYOB is NOT running, locate the folder where the unzipped .myo file is located, or to be located, and delete any files starting with lock or access and having an .flk extension, for example lock0002.flk. These may cause MYOB to think the file you are trying to replace is still open, thus preventing the restore.

 

If problems persist, restore to your desktop and then move the file from there to preferred location.

As has been pointed out, the serial number doesn't match your account message when uploading generally indicates that you are not the AccountRight Live Owner or Administrator when uploading that file. Taking a look at your account we are not showing an AccountRight Live Owner on your serial number thus I have sent you a private message on the Forum about adding this.

 

Once that has been added you would be able to upload the company file to the cloud as intended.

I'm sorry to hear that you are not like the AccountRight 2018 product.

 

In terms of reports timing out, generally speaking, this occurs when the program is attempting to pull a range of data, however, it has been unable to do so in the allocated timeframe. If you are encountering this message, I would recommend trying adjusting the filters of that report to reduce the amount of data that the report is pulling. Also temporarily disabling third-party programs can have an effect as well. I've also sent you a private message on the Forum in regards to a timeout extender that can be added to the program system files that has aided some users with that message.

 

In terms of going back to AccountRight v19, you would be needing to enter any transactions that you have entered into the AccountRight 2018 company file into the pre-upgraded AccountRight v19 company file. Do also note that you will not be able to take advantage of AccountRight 2018 benefits such as live access, bank feeds, single touch payroll on AccountRight Classic.

Thanks for the extender information Steven.  It will help alleviate the pain in the short term.  But 2018 is just not functional for us.  It has simply been too costly and inefficient.  Re-entering the huge amount of data to go back to v19 is now impossible.  I guess we have no option but start the project to move to another software.

In-tray Window Size

I have used the "save window size/location" option in preferences and AccountRight now opens nicely on one side of my two monitors.

 

Is there a way to do a similar thing with the windows within AccountRight itself? I keep losing the In-Tray behind the command centre. If I could change the default size for the in tray to slightly larger than the command centre it wouldn't be an issue.

 

Ctrl + F6 is fine when I remember it but if my hand is already on the mouse, it would be easier to click on it to bring it back to the front. The Enter Sales and Enter Purchases default sizes are much larger than the In Tray.

The change you made hasn't enabled me to open the files. Situation still the same.  My MYOB is Account Right Premier.(not Plus).  The upgrade I purchsed is Account Right Plus as I now only need one user as I have on laptop.

 

My Version is Account Right Premier for Windows. Australian Release Ver 19.9.0 Release 19.9.0A

Comp File ID 6  Last 4 digits S/N  7073

Hi 

 

The reason why that company file is not confirming is that the serial number in the file is licenced to use AccountRight Plus, not Premier. If you do need to confirm that file you would need to confirm that company file in AccountRight Plus (v19 or 2018).

Hi Steven

 

This has only just been upgraded to AccountRight Live 2018 on 18/5 because I could not confirm one of my files on Premier. (18/5/18) Unfortunately Sales team didn't tell me it could be fixed instead of having to do the upgrade.  I never did want it.  For the last 16 years I have been using Premier but a restructure in the Company now means I can just use one PC  so Premier is no longer necessaryu even though I could have kept using it.

 

I just tried to download AccountRight Plus 19 but got error message saying I didn't have Version 19.7 or 19.8 which I don't (Ive been running Premier) and of course I'm back to not being able to verify in my Premier.

 

I'm concerned that if I convert to 2018 now (I do not want to use it live) that I will have problems also starting these up  as they arec all Premier files and as I said 2 I am unable to open and the others will go that way soon too.  This is too close to Financial year end to be out of action.  Please help

Hi 


When you selected the installer from the download page did you select the Full installer or the Update? In your case, you would need to select the Full installer.

 

If you did select that Full installer can you provide the exact wording of the message when you go install that version of the program.
