Upgrade company file

I am the owner and administrator of our software and have successfully upgraded our main company file, but when I try and upgrade a second company file, I am being asked for the administrator password.  I currently log in with my email address and there are no issues with inviting users etc.  Please advise.  Regards Chris

Hi 

 

You can download the MSI Installers from our Product Download Page. Just go to: www.myob.com/downloads, drop down AccountRight Live MSI Installers and choose the relevant installer.

 

Note that when installing the MSI Installer, please remember to follow the AccountRight MSI installation instructions

 

Please let us know if you have any other troubles.

 

Buying additional company file

Hi, i have recently downloaded the new myob version for STP purposes. I am starting from the beginning and creating new card files for our employees. How do i go about purchasing additional company files please. I need another 4 please.

Hi 

 

I am assuming you are referring to this window:

When Upgrading an older AccountRight file from v19 or below, this will prompt for the Administrator password as there is no email address logins for the older software and the only authentication was through the User ID's and the Administrator details.

 

So we would need the Administrator login details that were used in v19 to proceed, this is unrelated to your Email Address & password used in AccountRight Live.

 

A small note is that by default there is no password here and the Password is blank.

 

If you do not have the password, we can look into a paid password removal. Please send me your MYOB Serial Number via Private Message to look into this option.

AccountRight 2018.2 not work with OneDrive

Hi

I have found that my .myox file in Library folder “My AccountRight File” does not sync properly with OneDrive. OneDrive sync process just keeps uploading the file because it’s last modified data is updated every time it it uploaded. It may be AccountRight process is doing this erroneously.

This should not happen.

I can see that  has given you some information here on AccountRight Premier.

 

I have also sent you a Quote on an additional 4 Subscriptions to use STP on 4 extra company files, please note that as you are a Premier User, as  had mentioned you are entitled to 2 files on your current subscription.

 

In total this would come to 6 files using the Online Services if you accept the Quote.

 

If you require only 4 online, then please send me a Private Message for the total number of files you require.

Hi 

 

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a great source of information.

 

We have had troubles with OneDrive in the past as it attempts to sync once updates are made. This becomes problematic for SQL server type databases as AccountRight 2018 is.

 

Generally the best practice would be to keep the Backups of the database in a folder that OneDrive syncs but not the Database itself.

 

Note that it's best to take a backup at the end of every session.

Where do I find the Clearwater Sample files?

Hi

Our server administrators recently performed the MSI installation of the AccountRight 2018.2.  I have opened the product to view and test the sample company file Clearwater.myox, but it doesn't appear to have installed.  Are you able to guide me as to where I can find this file?  I have searched the entire network drive and nothing appears.  I wanted to have a look at how this file operates before I upgrade from 19.14.

 

Is it online and not downloaded to our server?

I need to upload MYOB from my old computer to my new computer. I have AccountRight Plus version 2015.3. I have my serial number.

Hi 

 

You should be able to see the Clearwater Sample files in your Library after an installation as shown in this support note: Using the sample company file (Clearwater)

 

If they do not show, this either suggests the files have been removed after installation or the Library Location was changed to a different location.

 

You can find the default Library Locations in this support note: Manage libraries

 

Failing it all, I have included an AccountRight Plus Clearwater file from my own installation of AccountRight 2018.2. This is attached to my post, you should be able to download this from the bottom of my reply and restore it to your Library as per this support note: Restore your company file

Thanks Hayden - it says there are no company files in my library when I go to open the sample file.  Does an MSI installation mean I need to use My Library or setup a Network Library?  We will have multiple users accessing the file concurrently via terminal services on our remote server, plus third party add-ons using odbc.  So ideally I would like to put the new installation in the same place on our server (and not the default library).

 

I copied the Clearwater file you gave me (thank you) onto the server, and it copied it into my personal library (that nobody else has access to), but at least I can have a look around in the meantime.

I find the documentation a little lacking when it comes to MSI installs.

Hey there! Welcome to the MYOB Forum!

 

Moving to a new computer is a matter of installing the software on that computer and bringing the file across.

 

As you mention you're on 2015.3 I am assuming you are not a current MYOB Subscriber, you can download 2015.3 from the MYOB Product Download Page under AccountRight Live.

 

Once you download this onto the new computer and install it, simply get a backup copy of your file from 1 computer and restore it to the new computer. Here's an MYOB Help Wiki to guide you through restoring: Restore your company file

 

And you should be done after that. Give us a shout if you experience any troubles or have any q's.

BIt of trial and error and crossed my fingers and hoped for the best - I changed my default lib to a new sample directory on the partitioned drive on the server that everyone has access to.  Restored from backup correctly into this location.  Able to save transactions whilst logged in as another user, and view those transactions so working well it appears Smiley Happy

2018.2 upgrade - no reports available

Hi 

 

MYOB.Huxley.API.HuxleyApplicationException:  (Unknown): ShowUIView(PayBills,...,...) ---> MYOB.Huxley.API.HuxleyApplicationException:  (DataFormatException):

 

This looks like a corruption in your data file - not generaly solved by re-installing. I woul dbe urging MYOB to examine the file.

hi,

 

Trying to remove AR2017.2 in order to install 2018.2 on a server 2012 R2 machine.

 

AR2017.2 uninstalled ok, API on the other hand wont go.

 

Log below. Is there a brute force method for removing this? Tried everything already found on forums..

Re: In-tray Window Size

Hi 

 

The In Tray window is able to be resized by moving the cursor over the bottom right corner of the window and dragging out to the required size. For example:

When Setup>>Preferences>>Windows>>Save Window Sizes and Locations is enabled that window sized will saved for the next time that particular window is opened.
